My overall impression

Young actress Rebecca volunteers at the Alzheimers ward at an old age home and learns about herself and how to care for others. It’s a sweet – if a bit trite – story with a weak arc, but some solid performances. Elizabeth Rian as Rebecca is superb, carrying the looks and moxie of a starlet from the ’40s; something that she uses to her advantage throughout the piece as Rebecca goes into the schtick of a number of old film archetypes through the play in order to connect with the elderly patients under her care. The rest of the cast is mostly terrific, especially Toni Tinkelman, who is excellent as cantankerous former English professor Mrs. Eisenberg. The script needs work and a stronger director than Sarah Eisenberg, who seemed to have done little more than block the piece. But this is certainly worth a look.
