Zico, a struggling Brazilian actor in NYC is discovered at the Fringe Festival. Upon being cast as Hamlet for a production for Shakespeare In The Park, Zico finds himself struggling to portray Shakespeare’s most famous anti-hero.
Around him a parade of colorful characters take place:
Jolene: a Southern bell musical theater actress whose innocence takes her to arms of closeted gay men all over NYC.
JewMinicana: a Jewish bipolar bride at a crutial feminist dilemma: to get or not a brazilian wax for her wedding night.
Casablanca: a Hollywood tour guide from Peru who faces Fabio at Equinox gym.
Washington and Desiree: a split up couple from Inglewood whose love take a sour detour in revenge among dog walks, fake blings and family Sunday BBQ.
Ben: an all American model/actor whose determination to make it takes him to the streets of midtown Manhattan to fight shame and diarrhea while dragging a Kmart shelf.
Lindsay and Amazon River: Lindsey, a D listed actress who does volunteer work for the Hollywood Animal Shelter, visits a Amazon, a psychic, looking for answers to finding Don Juan De Marco, a stray cat that’s been impragnating wild kittens all over Hollywood.
And many others take the stage as Zico searches thru the many rhythms of his own soul to discover what makes Shakespeare beat like samba.
