My overall impression

The Rogue Artists Ensemble’s retelling remixing and mashing up of Shakespeare’s work was a JOY! The masks and costumes were colorful and inventive (shower curtains?? inner tubes???) and the actors were charming and delightful! I’m not an expert when it comes to Shakespeare, so I think some aspects (characters) went over my head. But, the scenes with Romeo and Juliet, and Hamlet were hilarious retellings of stories I knew well. There was a very tender moment with Ophelia that took my breath away! There were a few glitches in the preview performance including going over time but I’m sure they’re aware of it and will be able to tighten things up in the “real” performances. All in all its one to definitely not miss during The Fringe!
