My overall impression

As a fan of both The Hunger Games and video games, I really enjoyed a lot of the jokes in this show. Knowledge of The Hunger Games isn’t really necessary to understand it, but if you don’t have at least a passing knowledge of video games, particularly those from the 80’s, you might find yourself at a bit of a loss.

The fight choreography was OUTSTANDING, particularly in the one-on-one battles.

The stand-out was Link, who was fully committed to making the classic sound effects and had a line that brought down the house.

I did feel that it took awhile to get going since they had to explain all the ways the audience can interact and introduce all of the characters. It might flow better if they lost a couple of fighters and one of the hosts; not because any of the performances were lacking but because it’s a lot to fit into one hour.

Also, it started ten minutes late and ran ten minutes over the scheduled time, and since I had somewhere to be, I spent the last bit anxiously looking at my watch instead of being immersed in the show.
