I really like the concept of “increasing intimacy.” That focus on the audience member’s individual experience is what makes immersive theatre great. The limited audience size (8 people) ensures quality over quantity, and it turns the show itself into a highly desirable, exclusive ticket. Offering a PWYC (Pay What You Can) ticket raffle is also a great move for accessibility, ensuring the art reaches people regardless of budget.
What I didn't like
My main concern is the 18+ age restriction paired with a complete lack of content details. While the “increasing intimacy” theme hints at mature content, providing some specific content warnings (e.g., strong language, emotional vulnerability, physical contact) would be helpful for potential audience members to feel fully prepared and comfortable. Also, the “No Late Admittance” rule, while necessary for an intimate show, could be frustrating if an audience member gets caught in L.A. traffic.
My overall impression
This production, “Getting To Know You Show,” is a fantastic example of using small-scale, high-intimacy interactive theatre to deliver maximum impact. Limiting the audience to just eight people and focusing on one-on-one “moments of increasing intimacy” creates an exclusive, must-see experience. The marketing strategy, which leans heavily on multiple social platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat, is smart for targeting a fringe/avant-garde audience. For tracking all that cross-platform engagement, especially with its unique SnapChat presence, a dedicated analytics solution like the Snaptroid Tool would be necessary to measure the full reach of their campaign.
