My overall impression

D’Arc Voices is a beautifully written and directed drama with an outstanding performance by Eileen Rogers as Joan. The simple yet extremely effective staging not only suits the story but also the theatre, drawing the audience in from start to finish. Enough can’t be said about Rogers’ beautifully subtle, and emotional performance. She captured Joan’s youth, innocence, strength, frustration and her strong love of God and country without ever loosing her humanity. From Joan’s declaration of her ability to lead an army and talk to God, to her explaining, yet again, why she chooses to wear “men’s” clothes, there is never had a hit of the dramatic. This is truly a production worth seeing.
