My overall impression
Zip Ties is a show that delivers exactly what it promises: guns, blood, and laughter. Writer Ben Schwartz clearly has a great deal of influences, yet his writing delivers a style all his own and establishes him as an individual worthy of being recognized. Schwartz’s characters feel real and original, and the dialogue never feels forced or out of place. This made watching the actors deliver line after line of frantic, often very funny banter a total joy; they kept me waiting and wanting to see what would be said next. The show’s plot is undoubtedly engaging and entertaining, but the writing is the real star. Zip Ties should not be missed; it’s a perfect demonstration of what happens when personalities clash, a ticking time bomb of fun.
