Alien VS Musical is a shoe in for Best Musical at this year’s FRINGE. This show boasts a Memorable and creative book and lyrics and phenomenal creature creation; Przytulski and Troop have really created something special! I’m assuming (by basic logic) that this show will be extended, and I advise anyone reading to grab your tickets as soon as they become available!
As a level 1 Broadway Musical enthusiast- I can tell you the theatrical references and style imitations are spot-on. As only a minor aliens fan- I recognized things, but based on some of the laughs, it also really catered well to the die-hard alien fans! A true crowd pleaser!
Standout performers by a sweet and later majorly badass Maria Von Trapp (Brianne Sanborn), a hilarious Mark Cohen (Andrew Wade), and a perfect belting Little Orphan Annie (Allie Costa), whose “Tomorrow” parody is a standout number, both for it’s writing and it’s vocal interpretation! The ensemble is strong and delightful- would love to see this show expanded to include a full two acts of musical and alien-related mayhem!
