My overall impression

“Starf*cking” was an amazing night of theater. The acting was consistently fine; the direction, flawless. There was an array of rich performances drawn from a dark, but often hilarious screenplay. I especially enjoyed Tony Devon Smith’s amazing turn as Ruben, Stephen DeCordova’s poignant Martin and Dawn Joyal as the doomed Patty.

The theme of a bleak Hollywood peopled by the lonely and starstruck seemed like a modern take on Nathaniel West’s “The Day of the Locust.” Beautifully done.
