Hurrah to Four Clowns on an amazingly hilarious show! ‘The Halfwit’s Last Hurrah’ was the second show produced by Four Clowns that I had the pleasure of watching, the first being Cal State Long Beach’s production of ‘Ubu The Shit’, and I couldn’t have been more entertained. Four Clowns really knows how to create an experience for audience members. The show begins from the moment you stand in line! You’re greeted by the incredibly charming Meri Winkle “the liquor vendor” as you wait and enter the theater, then the fun continues! I recommend sitting in the front row if, like me, you’re a fan of the possibility of interacting and even becoming a part of the show!
The show is cleverly written and incorporates so much more than the expected comedy that you think of when you hear the word clowning. I didn’t know what to expect and was so surprised to find a story filled with musical numbers, dance, acrobatics, betrayal, danger, love and laughs…the list goes on and on! All of this created by a wide range of lovable characters who make you laugh, and even have moments that pull on your heartstring and leave you worried for their fates. The show ended and I wanted more! ‘The Halfwits’ Last Hurrah’ is a definite fun night at the theater and should not be missed. I left the venue and all I could think of was how many more friends I can recommend this show to and see it again. Hurrah Halfwits!
