My overall impression

Antigone was too uneven a production for me to fully enjoy. Though Ms. McGregor has a compelling presence, things really came alive when Miguel Perez came onstage as Creon. Had the play consisted of only their relationship and struggle I would have been happier. Among the other players, only Michael Vega as Jonas did anything interesting. I was terrifically annoyed by Tyler Peck’s smug portrayal which he apparently doesn’t think we need to actually hear, either. Yes, we’re in a small house but most of what he and Katarina Rose Fabic say is either rushed and inarticulate or mostly just inaudible. Perez is the real deal here.
