My overall impression

Charles Marina is an ever expanding bubble of personality. He is so engaging with the audience that I felt like I could talk to him, or get up and hug him during the show and it would have been just fine. (I didn’t BTW) But him being engaging is important with this show. He talks about growing up in Lebanon and surviving not 1, not 2, but 3 DIFFERENT WARS. As an American who grew up in the suburbs I never felt so lucky. His performance uses humor and reverence to talk about all these things that happened to him, and as an audience member we see its ok to laugh because he is right there with us. Story and performance wise this is one of the best solo shows at the 2015 Fringe Festival.
