I loved every minute of this show. The exact kind of thing I'd hope to see @ The Fringe. Irreverent and imaginative with a terrific cast and wonderful writing!!!!! Kudos Jim Hanna!!!!!!!... full review

Scathing indictment of the vanity, pomposity and banality of the self indulgent world of the one man show. That being said, this show was vain, pompous and banal. NOT! A freakin' laugh riot. So funny at points I could not contain myself. Well done, cast and crew. Congrats Jim Hanna!... full review

I LOVED this show! It's hilarious, smart, artfully over the top and it's well constructed - beginning, middle, end and more! The language is literate - the acting is broad and, at the same time, very human. I cared about all the characters as they made their bids to become the winner of the 7th Annual One-Man Show World Championships. Treat yourself and your Self to the insanity! ... full review

Brilliant! Comic timing at its best. Not only was the script hilarious, all the actors were top notch performers who delivered a virtually flawless performance. The larger than life characters were played true. Instead of "going for the laugh", these skilled comic actors relied on the material and their honed delivery to raise the comedy bar far beyond the mere "yuk, yuk" of so many comedies. I was laughing so hard throughout that, when I exited the theater, my glasses were spotted with dried tears.... full review

It was uproariously funny as the laughter throughout the production attested. The actors did a wonderful job of conveying their individual character, which were all pretty outrageous. "Over the Top" would be a good and apt description. This is the production to see if you want to have a fun night, a good laugh especially during a Fringe Festival. Kudos to Jim Hanna, Writer and Producer and Director Caitlin Rucker. Timing is everything from lines to lights and this show nailed it.... full review

So I have seen this show three times and I would go again. Hilarity doesn't just ensue, it dominates your soul via the aggressive stylings of the contestants! The writing is grand, the actors perfectly cast, and even the tech nerds of the world get to vicariously experience their deepest fantasies. This show satirizes one man shows, which by their very definition dance on the edge of self-absorption. Jim Hannah gleefully pushes the genre over this edge while cleverly laying out his viewpoint of the world through his comedy. There is a message here if you can focus through your own laughter long enough to hear it. Well done. ... full review

total fan of this show... liked the characters for the most part... but i personally loved the 'challenge'. funny concept! obviously one person show fodder has been going on for years, even within our own solo community, but this show did a great job. The only place where it falters is with some sort of message that the haughty 'artistic' dude is just an ass and why does he have a right to share... or some such thing... which frankly, I dunno. I think we all come to do solo shows for different reasons, and some of us, just have shitloads to say, ideas a springing, and we need a stage to put it. Just. Like. YOU. (except as solo performers, some of us may be commitment phobe... or perhaps... afraid of people!) Anyhoo, as someone who's started ... full review

Alright, here's what I'm talking about. The premise of the show is it's the 7th Annual One-Man Show World Championship. And that's exactly what we get. And these guys beat the hell out of it. So funny and well delivered. They understand that parody does not mean "do poorly." They take it seriously and not only deliver their point, but deliver fantastic solo performances in the process. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED... full review

About the best, most concise, thing I can say about this show is: I laughed until there were tears. Actual tears. Brilliantly written, directed, acted. You don't want to miss this one.... full review

From "lights: up" the laughs start rolling with little reprieve during this hour-long send up of self-indulgent artistic excess. Playwright/actor Jim Hanna has distilled the soul-baring one-man show down to its essence and drunk deep of the refined liquor to find the answer to the question: "Are we making art or are we just jerking off?" Setting the scene within the framework of an arts competition kicks the pretentiousness into overdrive as each performer tries to out-do each other's misery on the road to self-discovery. There's not much to criticize here except maybe some instances of timing. A minor quibble, but a few punchlines were lost amidst the laughter. However, as this was a preview and their first time in front of an audi... full review
