First of all, it’s an incredibly well-written comedy with an unexpected dark side. Typically, a play that includes such quirky characters (a crazy cat lady and a neurotic boyfriend lacking in social skills) could easily go the hammy route in the hands of lesser actors or a visionless director. This, however, is a great team of actors, each playing their parts in the most genuine ways. The resulting laughs are all the more satisfying.
I won’t spoil the climax for you, but let’s just say it involved a stuffed cat and hair-pulling.
