My overall impression
Susannah Blinkoff’s journey as told through a really tight 70 minute set was terrific. It was bold and honest and quite entertaining. Her personal struggle as the child of a successful composer, searching to find her own voice works on so many levels. Her own compositions are outstanding in an evening that would be in a lesser performers hands maudlin and self indigent. Her band , headed by John Balinger catches a great groove and sets a sweet tone, for a really engaging evening.
