Amazing show to say the least! A well written historical drama that tells the story often overlooked when discussing John Wilkes Booth that will keep you captivated the whole way through! Dialogue that not only brings another dimension to an often single sided character but plenty of chuckle moments to keep you wanting more. A wonderfully chosen cast includes standout performances by Adam Wylie as the controversial Booth, Vince Major as the older brother he idolized, and Eryn Guyton as the sister who knew him best. Wylie creates a character that the audience wants to sympathize with, from a sweet impressionable young boy to a man who loves his family and only did what he truly thought was best. Excellent new play well worth seeing. Not only was this play informative and dramatically interesting centering around one of the most famous theatrical families in American Theatre it was beautifully staged and there are some excellent performances. This is a play not to be missed as a new American Play that in my opinion will be picked up and could become one of the main plays of todays theatre repertoire. Go and see it!... full review

Having read the other reviews I can only assume that I came on an off night. The biggest, deal-breaking issue was that the show ran 30 minutes over its stated run time. That's HUGE, and made even more so considering that it's only supposed to run 90 minutes in the first place. I ended up being 20 minutes late to my next show and I must admit I was pretty pissed off about it, even though I got in to see the show for free. As for the show itself, I really liked the concept and I thought the actors were decent (Adam was great as the lead!) but the script was rough. A wonderful new play full of captivating dramatic moments and a perfectly selected cast. This play will keep you interested from beginning to end as you get to know each character and leave you wanting to discuss the play over and over after it's done. The minimal set and selective lighting only help to bring the audience and the characters on stage closer together. I found myself captivated by the performances given by Adam Wylie and Vince Major. This was probably in my top five for the entire festival - with a little polish and tweaking, writer/director Brendan Russo's examination of the forces and family life that shaped John Wilkes Booth could stand on its own at the Mark Taper Forum. Kudos to producers Alexa Berry and Javier Sepulveda for a compelling production - with a special shout out to the amazing sound design. Creative use of space and light made this a highlight of the Fringe offerings. I recommend this new play! It offers a unique view on John Wilkes Booth, from the perspectives of the people who knew him best. It also provides insight into the lives of the Booth family of actors. Watching this play was enlightning! I especially enjoyed the strong performances of Radek Antczak(John Wilkes Booth), Vince Major(Edwin Booth). Radek's transformation throughout the play was amazing, not to mention his charismatic presence on stage. Vince's portrait of Edwin was incredible. The moments he appeared on stage were full of passion and he was able to move the plot forward in a beautiful and subtle way. One more performance on June 28 10pm! Catch it if you can. I though this piece had an interesting POV on this famous event in history giving us family background on Mr. Booth making his character somewhat more sympathetic. I quite enjoyed the charismatic acting turn by Vince Majors as Edwin, as well as Radek Antczak. ... full review

Great performances, captivating story and thought. It is always interesting to see a portrait of the pain which causes people to commit mistakes. John Booth felt justified in his actions and this play helps us comprehend it. Great (!) performance by Vince Major! I'm glad I went to see this!... full review
