My overall impression
Meet: ‘La Bête’ = the beast! and the rest of the Hoi Polloi, when they talk about white roses, mortgages and slot machines, lost wives and careers, cultural revolutions and scream theories, dreams and fears, and Charlton Heston in front of the Lincoln Memorial… if they remember their lines! Do not miss June Carryl’s Hollywood Fringe Festival-play at the Lounge Theater!!
June Carryl is an awesome talented actress, she will blow you away!! I saw her for the first time as ‘the beast’, Opening Show, and with her director James Carey on stage*, she and he together (actress/playwright+actor/director) are just a very wonderful perfect match – the two work together for the first time, but for sure not the last time. .. A fast paced play, brilliant dialogues, and monologues, words that hit the spot, boom, boom, boom, it’s fun, it’s stuff to think about… it’s not to be missed!!! I will def. see it again, with wonderful Mark Motyl on stage together with June Carryl.
*director James Carey will not be on stage as an actor in this play again. But he has his own one man show at the Fringe Festival, make sure to see “Coming to Zimbabwe”!! Find more info here on this site! http://hff14.org/1930
