My overall impression

If movement and drums aren’t your thing, don’t come to a show like this- but since I love them, I am grateful to have seen it. Even my friend, who never sees this stuff, liked it. It reminded me of ancient, primal theatre- I feel that is where the plot may even have started, but as for plot, I think everyone may have a different interpretation of that. Mine had it go from that ancient place and wend its way up through humanity, as we try to evolve.

I was also trying to interpret the costumes within the scope of this- they did a good job, I think, creating something that needn’t be attached to any current culture, which was an issue on my mind- how can we celebrate cultures without disrespecting them? Do we need to create new culture?

I wonder, what else is this show calling us to do, as humans?

And of course, that drum solo in the darkness was a great experience.
