My overall impression
Out of the three fringe shows I saw, PURE SHOCK VALUE is my favorite. Beside the humor and continuous laughs, what I didn’t think I’d like about this play is what makes it so cleaver…a story about making it successfully without talent in Hollywood. The writer stretched beyond the imagination but kept us right with the characters. The director perfectly cast these actors, who delivered an emotionally connected relationships on stage, which made it easy to go all the way to the big pay off. I was thoroughly amused and stuck with me. The theater was a great space, but this play could handle an even larger audience setting.
