This is an excellent piece of theatre. The director, Reena Dutt, has created a compelling journey for the main character, Shelly (skillfully played with wit and charming vulnerability by Laura Emanuel) as she tries to find a place for herself in a new environment, separated from everything she once used to define herself. It was a pleasure watching a character “grow up” onstage and find her voice (or a good pair of “trainers!”). Andrew Boyle is delightful as a range of crisp and connected characters. I found myself transported and carried along in the very capable hands of this team. I highly recommend this production.
