My overall impression
SHUFFLE ALONG is a tour de force. Arthur L. Ross is a true triple threat in every sense of the term. Not only will you go on a journey of the black performer’s history in musical theatre, but you’ll hear Arthur master the art of singing. From early 20th century to today, he embodies the style and sound of each period seamlessly. Arthur covers a wide range not only vocally, but with his honed acting skills – taking you through everything from tears to laughter. Perfect costume additions, impressive onstage makeup transformations, snazzy choreography, and live accompaniment by Bradley Scott Hampton combines with Calvin Remsburg’s brilliant direction. The historical visuals were just the icing on the cake. I definitely learned a thing or five, not only historically but about what a great one-man show should be. You have one weekend left to catch this fabulous show!
