PICASSO'S WOMEN: THE DARKER SIDE OF GENIUS A friend suggested I see this play and I'm so glad we did. Premise: The most important women in Picasso's life meet to discuss and cuss the genius artist. Two actors play the younger and the mature(?) Picasso who like a specter floats into and out of the discussions, sometimes interacting, sometimes just commenting, sometimes just in the background painting. The Director, known only as Aramazd, keeps the pace up and the tension up while sliding back and forth in time and place, and, projecting Picasso's art and personal photographs onto the background. Each and every actor gives a strong and touching performance revealing the strengths, weaknesses and sometimes pettiness of each character. W... full review

I'll be the first to admit that I don't get out nearly enough to support independent theater and Picasso's Women underscores the reason why not only I, but everyone, should support independent theater as often as able. Performed by an impeccable cast, told with an inventive narrative and directed with a clear passion for the material, from the introduction of the first performer/character to the farewell of the last, one can't help but be engaged, touched and even educated about the great artist that everyone knows, but not necessarily knows about. While the title gives one a pitch perfect flavor of the man and eludes to a story of tragedy, hiding in plain sight is an inspirational tale of survival and perseverance by those who refused to be... full review

This is probably a show that Picasso would not want you to see, but I'm so glad I did. The actors really connected to the rich material and the use of multi-media in the show was especially effective. Most importantly I cared about these women and their stories. I FELT for for them and was transfixed by them. There was a humanity in this piece was beautiful and complicated and full of rich emotion and passion...just like a Picasso painting. BRAVO!!! GO,GO!!... full review

Picasso's Women Fringe Festival Review Picasso's Women is a fascinating and captivating exploration of the many women who came in and out of Picasso's life. Although more importantly of the women themselves and how there interactions with Picasso, whether briefly and for an extended period, shaped the rest of their lives. Picasso once said "To create you must destroy". I suspect this was a sentiment that he carried throughout his life both into his art and his relationships. He was a great artist and a man of many appetites and never seemed to regret the affects his actions had on others. This is the story of the others, Picasso's Women. The play centers on four of those women Francois Gilot, Fernande Olivier, Dora Marr, and Olga ... full review

This was a surprise piece for me. I found it to be a beautiful examination on the women who loved Picasso. It had beautiful moments of lyrical movement and complete commitment from the actors onstage. It also gives one a history lesson and another perspective on one of the most talented artist that has ever lived. The actress who played Olga is fire. Go see this work!... full review

This is a pretty good show that sheds light on a side of Picasso that isn't really talked about. it gave a voice to the women in Picasso's life. Go see it! Especially if you're a fan of Picasso's art and have never heard about the women in his life.... full review
