My overall impression
Yes, Mike was great with the singing, dancing, timing of his lines, etc. – all those things successful actors are expected to do. But what makes this play stand out was his ability to be so open to his audience with personal, intimate details of his life. His openness (thus the title “Open Mike”) left me thinking how interesting this man is. I cannot imagine someone watching Mike tell his story and not feel moved emotionally. I’ve heard that the definition of a friend is someone who knows so many things about you and they STILL like you. Thanks Mike for sharing your story in such an entertaining way.
