Hilarious, engaging and loaded with heart, ‘Who Am I’ delivers in every way. Carmen Angelica gives us a delightfully poignant (and sometimes heartbreaking) look at life in Los Angeles.
This one woman show is a tour de force of infectious energy, hilarious writing and technical wizardry that elevates it beyond the typical HFF fare. Most one-person shows tend to wallow in the bittersweet taste of their own self-sacrifice whereas Carmen’s piece transcends the medium and uses clever staging, powerful visuals and ingeniously crafted setups to turn well-trodden territory into a vibrant piece of theatre. Kudos to Rebecca Drysdale for her masterful directorial touch.
This 30-minute gem is a good reminder of what the Hollywood Fringe Festival is all about!
