Thank you, thank you Will Play for Food for putting this very important story on the stage. Louisa Hill’s beautiful script is such a refreshing and necessary voice. I really enjoyed the language of religion/faith mixing with the grrrl talk, into a kind of magical poetry.
I loved the diversity of this awesome all-female cast, and I loved the authentic body-positivity of this production. This is what the Fringe and the theatre world in general (but most especially in LA) needs more of!
I loved looking over and seeing a whole row of young men next me who were SO into this story — YES! Thanks for helping prove that grrrl stories are important for everyone to hear!
I would have loved to see the actors playing the romantic interests have a little more authentic chemistry and heat. I felt like the sexuality/romance between them was played a little “safe”, and I had a hard time believing that they had real desire for each other, other than friendship.
Overall this was a rad show and I hope that this is not the end for Riot Grrrl Saves the World — please bring it to more people and rock their worlds.
