SCOTT DEGUZIS certified reviewer June 18, 2014
Wow...a truly engaging and captivating show. Scott is an amazingly talented performer. The depth in his writing and the smart witted dialogue keep the story grossly entertaining. I just can't get over how fun it was to watch him sing, dance, act and narrate this wonderfully painful and joyous testimony of self discovery. My only complaint is that it had to end so soon.... full review

This is a gem of a one person show and that is seldom the case, but Scott Hislop makes it easy to say. Fast, concise, funny, moving without being self-serving. I was truly delighted and entertained. His writing, in particular, is muscular--his timing dead perfect. It's odd to try to find words to make this different from being "just a good friend" who likes this guy. But Scott is not a close friend, so I have no reason to get on his good side! Trust me on this. He is a splendid performer. Just splendid. ... full review

Scott's writing is heart-felt, intelligent, poignant, important and a needed voice for compassion and understanding in a world full of polarity. Luckily, the audience is treated to Scott delivering this wonderful material. As a performer, Scott is a true triple threat and we are spell-bound by his charismatic and honest re-telling of his life and the future charge he has willingly taken on in support of the many who hide in closets, afraid to find their voice. The boy with the high-pitched voice that was bullied as a child emerges as a strong, insightful, loving, funny, unstoppable Saturday Warrior! The mark of a fantastic play is how it makes you feel when you leave the theater. Scott's talent as a storyteller both in his writing and acting... full review

I've known Scott Hislop to be a very talented man for quite some time, but this show took him to a whole new level. A true triple threat, Scott will make you laugh, cry and expand your way of thinking in numerous ways. I couldn't be happier that I saw this show and I recommend it to anyone and everyone.... full review

Wow--what a fabulous performance! This one man show is a must see. Scott Hislop has written such a funny and poignant piece, and he delivers it with panache and wicked comic timing. And then in a heartbeat, his tone is sincere as he revisits some of the more painful moments in his life. I was swept along with the rest of the audience, taking the journey with him, experiencing every moment--one moment smiling, laughing, then intensely silent, and then a great outburst of laughter and applause. And bonus! He dances and sings, too. Brava, Scott Hislop! Go see "I Want to Bury My Testimony." ... full review

Brutally honest and hysterically so! Scott is a true triple threat who blends all facets of his talent seamlessly to share his truth. I walked out having laughed. Having teared up and having whooped with joy. Don't miss the chance to witness this artist in full force who shares all and gives you so much to think about along the way. ... full review
