My overall impression
As an actor I kinda dreaded this. I knew it was going to hurt. It did. Painful, true, merciless about the profession. Also, funny, brave compassionate and wise. An incredible mirror for anyone who shares Tanner’s profession, a perfect key to understanding us for anyone who doesn’t. The writing is so sharp and unsparing, and the performance is astonishing. Life isn’t a small part, and this is what is on that stage. Terrific.
