Richard Tanner has created a microcosm of a show which any creative person can relate to. You don't have to be an actor to see yourself in his challenges and triumphs. And speaking of triumphs. I got an email from a friend whose judgment I trust and she said this was the best show in the entire Fringe Festival. She was right in my opinion as well. Hilarious, daring, intelligent, relatable and moving on many levels...even instructive and inspiring. This was a triumph for him. I hope he experiences it as such. ... full review

A very touching portrait of the travails experienced by all actors, even the ones who become greatly successful (before they make it big). A real insider's view into what show business is really about, and highly recommended.... full review

Possibly the greatest and funniest one man show I have ever seen!! Richard literally made the audience squeal with laughter. There wasn't a SINGLE slow moving or dull moment, with laughs piled on top of other laughs. There was SO MUCH going on, it easily held everyone's attention for the entire length of the show. I was actually SAD when it was over. Everyone can relate to Richard's journey and the relationship with his parents which was beyond touching. Afterwards, the audience stayed in the lobby, gushing to one another how much they enjoyed the show. Added bonus was the "Worst Head Shot" contest, and Richard gave away buttons and coasters afterwards that were hilarious. Overall it was one of the best evenings I've had!!... full review ... full review

Out of four stars, this one's a five. Probably more like six or seven. Ok, let's say it, this one goes to eleven. Whether or not you're an actor, (or play one on tv!), or know one, or ever have known one, or, come to think of it, ever have known another human being with hopes, heartbreak, or, most likely, a combination of both -- Richard Tanner's small PARTS will resonate with you long after you've left the theatre, probably holding your stomach 'cause it still hurts from laughing. You'll be thinking about what it means to live fully, to commit yourself fully to what you know you were born to do. And when I say "you", I mean...all of us (inside joke there, for all who've seen the show) Intelligent, honest, life-observing, life-celebrati... full review

Richard Tanner in his one-man show is equal parts touching, witty, charmingly self-deprecating, and totally hilarious. I thoroughly enjoyed Richard's story from beginning to end. Obviously, this is a great piece for actors and people in the industry in all levels of achievement and struggle. But the story being told, anyone can relate to. And that is a true credit to Richard's talents as a performer and his warm and relatable personality. I highly recommend this fantastic show to everyone! Cheers Richard... To many more small AND big parts in the future!... full review

Richard Tanner is a very good actor spilling his life out onto the stage. As the audience, we feel his pain, joy, hope and despair. He charms and cajoles us into going along with him on his journey as an actor. The ride is an emotional one played with authenticity at every bump and turn.... full review

For anyone who has ever dreamed of making "it" in the arts, this show is tailor-made for you. From "coming out" to his father about his love for acting to his curtain call, Richard Tanner spins an engaging personal story of passion, fear, and, ultimately, understanding. Excellent direction by Jim Fall, and a special kudos to the multimedia design by Corwin Evans, which integrated wonderfully with Richard's self-proclaimed "cautionary tale" for the modern actor. While I felt the script might have benefited from some minor trims, Richard is a dynamic performer whose love for his art is inspiring. Definitely worth the visit. Thanks, Richard!... full review
