Rachel Germaine offers an exuberant, high-energy glimpse into her Long Island upbringing, suffering under the hands of tyrannical brothers and her journey toward acceptance. Told with humor and razzle-dazzle, what could simply be an anti-bullying, coping with addiction or investigation into female coming-of-age braids all three threads in a common story informed by all these aspects. The result is an entertaining one-and-some-person show.
I would have appreciated the clarity that comes from dedication to one of these threads, perhaps going deeper into the complicated interplay between budding sexual identity and a childhood spent marginalized, but that's not quite germane to Germaine. If you have siblings you will LOVE this show! Even if you're an only child, you'll be able to relate to the funny, touching, wild moments of youth. Everyone had a childhood but no one is able to quite articulate it into a highly entertaining show like this! Bravo!...

I was completely tricked by the creative team of "Germaine." Convinced that I was in for a nostalgic, reflective, joyful, hilarious, experience with sequined dancers and a homage to Axl Rose, I let down my guard. It was then I was immediately struck with one of the most heartfelt, sensitive and personal reveals I have witnessed outside of my own family gathering. Well played, Team Germaine. ...
