Interesting “tales of the city” piece with some very strong performances. Definitely worth seeing.
My fantasy, in terms of the evolution of this piece: I’m more of a “show rather than tell” fan, so would like to see the author experiment with letting each actor BE the character they’re describing. What you actually have here is a 1 man show in disguise as a series of monologues. Not 100% sure the strategy deployed to move the storytelling from page-to-stage is as strong as the stories themselves. So I’d love to see the treatment again (Fringe next year?!?), where the playwright gives us the people—the characters—speaking for themselves…direct storytelling rather than everything coming in 2nd hand.
