My overall impression
I didn’t know much about the play going into it, but I was intrigued by the premise. The writing was excellent and the cast was stellar, with many of the actors playing multiple roles and even singing.
The cleverness of the script did a great job or getting the message across without ever coming across as heavy handed, and the message was one that most people in this town can relate to. Although the idea of someone’s creative vision being diluted by focus groups and producers isn’t exclusive to Hollywood, it’s as analogous to this town as septuagenarians dating 20 year olds with credit card debts and big dreams.
Great play highly recommended!
