I enjoyed this show very much! I came with a close friend and well, our Sunday was well spent. We thought the whole thing was put together incredibly. It was amazing how 6 individuals were able to not only put on a good show, but in between scenes change the sets around. We definitely give this show four thumbs up! ... full review

This show is amazing in a crazy, bizarre, deep kind of way! The whole cast was fully committed and ready to play, but I was especially drawn to Brian Allman's performance. He hit all the right notes with strength, incredible physicality, humor and emotionality. If you're looking for a drama in a box, this show probably isn't for you. But if you want to stretch the boundaries of that box, and add some dark humor to the mix, then "The Pens Shall Have Their Day" is perfect for you. Check it out! ... full review

The Pens Shall Have Their Day was an incredible play. The story, actors, and delivery were all in sync. The story's plot stays consistent throughout the play while and keep a clear message through the use of exaggerated scenarios. The actors all did very well--each one's skills stood out individually yet complimented each other's characters. And the delivery of the play made this experience even better--the characters interacting with the audience, the transitional scenes, and even the set itself. Anyone looking for a funny, twisted, and an un-everyday experience, I highly recommend this play.... full review

This show was something definitely out of the ordinary , but in a good way. Very unexpected when you think of the titled The Pens Shall have Their day. The play kept me on my toes wanting to know what going to happen next also i could not stop laughing as well as the actors in this show out did them self. It was a very interested topic the play chose to play of off because so many struggle artist are going through this today in Hollywood too. I found "The Pens Shall Have Their Day" to be funny and engaging. Both lead actors were super animated and spot on in their performances. I found myself actually feeling sorry for Alfred and how he constantly stood in his own way. Anima was full of pep and had a great stage presence, and the concept of the Play was unlike any I'd seen before and extremely creative. All and all I thoroughly enjoyed the performance and seeking this play has peeked my interest and I will definitely be attending more theatrical performances from now on!... full review

I thought the play was very interesting. Going into the show, I didn't know what to expect but by the end I was very surprised by how the play was able to balance out the funny moments and the dark moments. Some of my favorite moments involved how Alfred's consciousness would comment on what Alfred was doing. I did like how the moments when Alfred was losing touch with reality were so intense that even I was unsure as to what was real or part of his mind. Over all, it was a very pleasing experience and a great way to spend a Sunday.... full review

The show was Great, there were times during the show where I was so into the play that I forgot where I was. Even though the play was short I feel like all aspect of the storyline were met. The comedic timing of Alfred's creativity was as close to perfect as possible. Even the small set changes impressed me and really made me feel as if the play went somewhere else. Also the fact that Alfred's creativity was played by a woman half his size were added to the comedy. I really have no complaints about this play at all, it was funny, witty and told a good story. The ending of the play was my favorite part by far it really gave me chills.... full review

I found this show to be thought provoking, entertaining and extremely unique. After the show I couldn't stop thinking about it which must mean it made an impression on me! I thought there were very strong performances all around, and I was especially impressed by Mary Rachel Gardner, who played the role of Anima/Nana. Her timing was impeccable and I found her energy to be captivating!! I loved that the ensemble worked as a unit and from the audience I could see the love and passion the actors had for the project and each other. A great story of a writer and his dependency and addictions. At the start of this play I didn't expect it to be so engaging and entertaining but my thoughts completely changed by the start when the characters came on stage with no introduction or being lead to start. The story was a great one showing Alfred's pain and suffering from the loss of his wife and really showing the struggle of getting his thoughts and his mind straight. The play had a great beginning, middle, and especially the end. The end of this play left me speechless at how the events played out and how Alfred was consumed by everything and ultimately led to his demise. Great play, very impressed and definitely a must see. ... full review
