Simplicity of story telling with layers of humanity and history
What I didn't like
it all worked but having a standing set
- for future theater commitments – would enhance the show’s atmosphere for audiences
My overall impression
A generation of American men, almost all gone now, went to war, and some came home and almost never spoke of their experiences. In Brian Rohan’s brilliantly crafted one-man show, we are invited to experience the postwar existential crossroads through the eyes of an honored pilot—and movie star.
Rohan as Jimmy Stewart is as relaxed and personable as the adored film actor, and his performance is masterful. Studio stars of the Golden Age had careers of 10 years if they were lucky, but some persevered for decades, happily welcomed into homes through late-show reruns, talk-show victory laps, TV movies, and holiday classics. Jimmy Stewart didn’t know he would be remembered by audiences worldwide in 2026, but this beautiful one-man play reminds us why some stars—and some people—shine on.
