What I liked
Everything from costume to song was hand-tailored. The elements of the show were dynamic and fluid and the perfect length (everyone wanted more as the show wrapped). It felt like no stone was left unturned, no turn left unstoned.
What I didn't like
I selfishly wanted more. More music, more stage effects(lasers fog dramatic spotlight) more moments of the “work” Ricki is doing in the world, more lore moments. I could see the show treating itself like Ricki is the Most Famous Disco Star In History and it would really work.
My overall impression
A brilliant diamond of a creation—absolutely hilarious, absurd, sexy, grotesque. The songs had everyone in the crowd shrieking and gasping for air through their laughter. One of my favorite things I’ve ever seen.
