The villain of the piece, a character named Seizure, is appealing with a charm which disguises his deadly intent. Because he is always there, lurking on the edges of scenes, the audience can share the tension and apprehension of what might happen.
What I didn't like
This show needs to be fleshed out with more scenes to develop the relationships among the characters, which wasn’t possible within the time contraints of the Fringe. But the potential is certainly there and I hope Abby and her important story can go on to a full production.
My overall impression
A valiant little musical which brings our attention to a little understood condition. Epilepsy is particularly heartbreaking in children, and the audience to this show feels all the fears and hopes experienced by young Abby and those who love her. The lovely songs brighten the story with humor and engage our sympathy with the characters.
