What I liked

I liked Joey and his sparkly choir robe a LOT. He managed to balance the nonsensical side of things with the hard truth and I’m still thinking about his points. So much potential here! Wonderful idea, approach, and voice.

What I didn't like

Such a fun show and poignant message. It’s really exciting in terms of where it could go. Without knowing the current intention, we thought treating it more like a sermon would help it move along (using the classic vocal inflection while still staying authentic so it’s not like a “show”). Plus, you already know your points—don’t read them verbatim, make bullet points. Loved the fortune cookies and how they invite audience participation. Would someone be willing to come up at the end and erase an app live? Also, general crowd work could help audience feel like it was living in the moment (unlike an app), or giving us time to actually visit when it was mentioned (the show had kind of moved on so we didn’t talk to each other). Also being backed up by a choir would give a whole new opportunity for jokes. Piñata should def be broken by dildo. Also is there any character arc possible for the AI? Something to make it feel like the joke pays off. Great idea and fun execution. I’d see this again for sure.

My overall impression

I really enjoyed this thoughtful and funny meditation on social media. Nothing better than being able to examine my behavior while laughing about it. And pondering this particular topic in a real live group makes it that much more interesting.
