This is a tender and funny show about a man who happens to be a transperson and a mother who struggles to mother, that is to say love and care for, their own fox-watching, Trump-voting mother. Told through a series of Thanksgivings, the show is simply produced with direct and rich dialogue, and you quickly forget that you’re in a theatre with others. Instead, it feels as if you’re being told a story by friend over dinner, just the two you. And soon, dessert and coffee are served and then, to your surprise, the last dish and mug are being collected and it’s over, leaving you, like all good art, wishing for more. ... full review
