It was personally so great to see a show developed specifically around IP that I hold so sacred, and interesting to see it through the lens of another genre (jukebox musical) which opens it to a new audience. I think they really nailed the characters (and the wigs, looking at you Neil), and there were several lines/bits that they made it their beeswax to reproduce with amazing accuracy.
What I didn't like
*My heart broke a little when I realized my favorite character didn’t make it into the adaptation. Maybe the bubonic plague finally caught up with him?
My overall impression
Camp Cherrywood WILL take you higher and higher, with lots of fun for diehard fans* or WHAS newcomers. This cast is incredibly talented, and you can tell they all have fun together making this show/bringing these characters and scenes to life.
