I wasn't sure what to expect when I went to see Johnny Cannizzaro's show, but I could't have been more pleased with what transpired in the next hour and a half. He can do it all. Writing, acting, accents, piano playing, and even a little bit of magic, although the whole show was magic. The show had emotional depth, humor, and compelling storytelling drawing the audience into his world. What ulitmately make this production memorable it it's emotional resonance. It succeeds not only as entertainment but also as a work the invites reflection long after the audience leave the theatre. Everyone involved showcases the power of live theatre at it's best. I’m just gonna vomit: I loved it. It was so earnest in the best of ways. Sometimes as an actor it can get a little gag inducing to listen to another actor talk about process and characters but so much work and love and honesty went in to this it was impossible for me not to relate and be moved and impressed and entertained.
