In Development is an engaging and heartfelt exploration of an artist’s journey, brought to life through a cast of memorable characters skillfully written and portrayed by Johnny Cannizzaro. Balancing humor, vulnerability, and inspiration, the production offers an authentic look at the creative process and the human experience. Cannizzaro’s writing is sharp, honest, and deeply relatable, making for an enjoyable and thought-provoking evening of theater. Johnny has found a great story and framework to share through performance his journey as a creative artist. Often non-linear and constantly developing, the artistic and personal highs can be just the other side of the lows. The ever-present question of Why an artist keeps going in the face of rejection is at the heart of this play’s explorations....

A personal, vulnerable and very funny show where Johnny bares his psyche and confronts the characters he has created as an Actor/Writer. With an incredible set, props and stage, this was one of those shows where you leave wanting to grab coffee with him and share how much you related to his story....

Italian actor JOHNNY CANNIZZARO (2Ns,2Zs) has been around the block but could still double for Robert Downey any day of the week! Now he's concocted an 85-minute self-showcase that displays his considerable acting chops more than his writing ones, abetted by three girls of varying talents. And to be sure those filling his 70 seats are happy they came to his very "off-Hollywood" venue (the century-old Women's Club on LaBrea above Hollywood Blvd) he fields a free feast and a modest admission price! Why? He deserves to collect Full Market Value more than most of his Fringe competitors for the fine time he provides!...
