I enjoyed the staging in this particular venue. It was reflective in the hopes that one's own self-reflection would allow the audience to also self-reflect. Whether or not it accomplished that will be very subjective to the audience's own journeys....

I found Johnny Cannizzaro's show "In Development..." to be exactly what is the best of Hollywood Fringe. A show that is truly a person working through a process and taking us along on the journey. This show took us on a journey of Johnny's inner thoughts and feelings about what it means to be an artist who has been at it for a while and how one's feelings can change and if that change is to hide or to serve. It leaves you thinking deeply about the roads we have all chosen in life and are we revealing or hiding, creating or controling the outcome. I went to closing night but if he brings it back to another venue, it's a must see!...

In Development was such a heartfelt and moving show. The way Johnny wove his real-life stories so vulnerably into the characters he created was truly beautiful. Watching an artist open his heart so completely, while also bringing us characters that made us laugh, reflect, and connect, is such a remarkable accomplishment.
The actresses were fantastic as well. They brought incredible depth, intensity, and humanity to each character, elevating every moment on stage and making the emotional journey even more powerful.
And to top it all off, the history of the venue itself added another beautiful layer to the experience. Knowing that this performance was also part of the effort to preserve and celebrate such a historic place made the evenin...

Johnny is a big talent, with an even bigger heart! As his characters tell their stories, he reveals secrets about himself and his artist's journey. He opens himself to the audience as he embodies "In Development" may be more about the journey than the destination....

The magic of this production is that it leaves you wanting more—more of the story, more of these characters, more time in their world. It feels destined for the screen or an expanded theatrical run because it ends with the audience craving what comes next....
