What I liked
I got the chance to see this both at The Joy Who Lived Festival in April and tonight, and it was neat to see the positive evolution of the show (now double the length) in such a quick timeframe!
Overall – well written, well acted, well directed, and funny!!
What I didn't like
Perhaps explore the opportunity to either involve other voice actors, or to make all characters present onstage with props as well as live voices? Only the parents were represented as prerecorded VO only. I do think this worked narratively in a flashback sense and allowed us to see Banana’s reactions clearly. Audibly it was a bit hard for me to distinguish between them at times, but again, super minor nitpick, great work!
My overall impression
A wonderful metaphor for transness equally enjoyable for trans folks, their allies, and hopefully even any transphobes who somehow wander into this show.
