All the vignette scenes are well written and well acted but the highlight without a doubt is with the scene between Julie (Rachael Meyers) and Gabriel (Greg Mathis Jr.) as it is a riveting examination of global majority folks who support far right conservative ideals and the unbearably difficulties it raise when it comes into conflict with their partners who are white and progressive/liberal.
What I didn't like
The first scene comes off rather “actory” strong that almost verges on the point of being melodramatic in an unbelievable way but fortunately it settles in after the first five minutes. While the Babel-esque vignette storytelling is interesting, the strength of its Julie-Gabriel piece outshines the others in its writing and performance.
My overall impression
A powerful collection of vignette scenes that reflect the current political climate of the United States that manages to provide insightful and hard hitting questions without being pandering or uncommitted in its perspective.
