What I liked
The costumes were just perfection. The set design was simple yet surprisingly flexible. Lady MacBeth was such a complex and dynamic character, it was impossible to look away from her.
What I didn't like
The transitions between scenes were well executed, and the interstitial music helped, but I couldn’t help wondering how necessary some of the moves were. Some scenes felt very short for how long the transitions were.
My overall impression
If you’re into furious women enacting revenge while looking fierce and fab, this is absolutely for you. This Lady MacBeth is sick of her abusive (and incompetent) husband’s BS, and she’s willing to go to extreme lengths – alongside her witchy lover – to wreak havoc and vengeance on anyone who stands in her way. Go check out this feminist retelling!
