This play was so smart, it explored a take on the story that I never would have expected. Although there were serious and touching moments, they never made you sit in that darkness for too long. The eerie folk music that played during the transitions actually elevated the story, and kept me on the edge of my seat for what was going to happen next.
What I didn't like
There was a combination of stage blood and red fabric to symbolize blood. I personally would have liked to see one or the other used consistently. I think it can be a really powerful and effective symbol. It didn’t take me out of the story though!
My overall impression
Lady M is a different perspective on Shakespeare’s Macbeth. The script is clever, and the story is witchy with nuggets of both dark and light humor woven throughout.
