What I liked
I loved the chemistry between the actors. There was so much nuance in each performance, which really deepened the interpersonal dynamics between the characters. It felt lived in and real. I also loved how funny it was. Finding laughter is such an important ingredient in telling a great story and Danny nailed it. I laughed, I cried, I felt seen.
What I didn't like
I only wish the theater was a little bigger with more comfortable chairs. The speakers sounded a little tinny at times. Otherwise, I enjoyed the show
My overall impression
Unplugged Electric Guitar is one of the most impactful pieces of theater I’ve ever seen. Danny’s story was beautifully written, poignant, funny, deeply resonant and expertly crafted. Everyone’s performance was filled with subtext, fluidly flowing from beat to beat with emotion and heart. This is the type of theater that inspires me to chase what I love.
