My overall impression
Karen Macarah, self-described, as the living embodiment of her father’s American dream, uses her immense acting skills and fantastic cabaret singing voice to tell the musical tale of her life.
She emotes about trying to fit into the role of the ingenue… that elusive part… for a 20-something YOUNG woman — who every actress between the ages of 20 and 40 — wants to fit into and embody.
Macarah tells stories, and sings… weaving together a CABARET; a powerful and personal journey through disordered eating, body dysmorphia, the tragic loss of her mother to cancer, and she now proudly wears her mother’s beautiful fur coat. An absolutely gorgeous reminder that she doesn’t need or want to be the ingenue anymore… she proclaimed. She is now the DIVA!!!
