About the Project
Street Poets, Org. in partnership with UNUSUAL SUSPECTS Theater Company and creative collaboration with NO EASY PROPS, VERSASTYLE Dance Co, and The Processing Foundation, presents: LIVE FROM LA! A Live Hip-Hop Theater immersive experience.
Against a hip-hop backdrop of music, poetry/spokenword, and movement, these bold young artists take the mic and sail across the stage to tell stories of identity, determination, and hope in their vibrant communities in Los Angeles. This is half protest art, half love-letter – all celebration of culture and speaking truth to power.

The Storyline: A group of teens rally their frightened community to save a beloved cultural center from gentrification in a Latino neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Created with student artists from: Street Poets, Processing Foundation, No Easy Props, Versa-Style Street Dance Company, and The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company
