What I liked

The biggest thing for me in immersive theatre is audience agency. Does the audience truly shape the narrative of the story, or could this be told start to finish without an audience present? This show could not exist without an audience. The night I went, I figured out one of the ways that we were to “save daisy” and other members of the audience cheered and it really felt like we were working together as a team. By the end of it, we were coming together how to problem solve and come up with the best way to approach any given situation. I loved that ephemeral feeling that you get in immersive theatre that you can’t bottle and this show does it so well. It also doesn’t hurt that Daisy herself is a master of thinking on her toes. I don’t think the premise would work quite as well without her at the helm, guiding the ship.

What I didn't like

I think that at times we were so eager in the beginning that we missed a few of the narrative beats at the beginning because we killed her too quickly. So maybe figuring out a way to curb that through laying out clearer rules at the start could be helpful, but really so minor and with a different audience maybe a non-issue. I know that the SM for their show got ill so the tech wasn’t always on point, but honestly it added to the delightful chaos of the show so not mad at it.

My overall impression

GO SEE THIS SHOW! This show is a must see; It is pure chaos and an absolute riot. As an immersive theatre creator, I always am skeptical about immersive shows in a traditional proscenium space, but this is 100 percent immersive theatre. Would love to see it again with a different audience to see how the narrative differed from show to show!
