The nostalgia of walking through the wardrobe room/costume shop into the cameo theater. I knew I was in for a college production. The power house actors who played Hayes and Dr.Gideon stole the show. Unveiling who the monster is inside. Murder mystery thriller at its finest.... full review

Whoa, I love a who-done-it psychological thriller and “Hummingbirds Are Not Machines” is exactly this! This ensemble cast and the production team takes you through a lot of twists and turns that make you sit on the edge of your seat. You HAVE to check this play out!... full review

The show is over 2 and a half hours long and the language is very repetitive in the first act. The second act is better but not much of a payoff Too long if you wanna see several shows in a day. ... full review

This original drama play is hauntingly beautiful. Themes of repressing memory and emotions and secrets kept. It's a long play at two hours, (and the bathrooms to the venue are all the way downstairs so that intermission goes by quick), but if you want to be moved by a spectacular original drama this Fringe season, make sure to see Hummingbirds Are Not Machines.... full review

The 2.5-hour runtime felt excessive. The show started at 8:00 PM and didn't conclude until 10:45 PM, making it significantly longer than advertised. Furthermore, there was an unannounced, roughly 10-minute intermission that caught most of the audience off guard. Also, the production suffers from severe pacing issues, making the over two-hour running time feel twice as long. Stepping into the venue, one was immediately struck by an unsettling sense of isolation; the front-of-house operations felt entirely abandoned, leaving patrons stranded without a single staff member to clarify the bafflingly prolonged intermission. The lack of basic amenities only exacerbated the discomfort, as the venue failed to provide even drinking water—making it ... full review

Shewan Edward wrote and produced a valiant effort with "Hummingbirds..." and this cast put their best foot forward into the roles they were given to bring this sci-fi mystery to life. I was intrigued by the story and impressed by the staging. Also, why not support a free show during Fringe!?! It turned out to be a thought-provoking piece of theater with a lot of promising ideas. ... full review

The detail and depths of the storyline it’s incredible. There’s a lot of content the hits on current topics and tying them to his historical journeys. Even though this is fictional, it touches on many layers of our societies history. It’s a remembering and knowing if you’re willing to hear and feel the story at its depths.... full review

I really enjoyed the show and all the twists and turns. The actors did a great job, especially with all the transitions and different moments they had to move through. The story felt like a TV series. I could see this concept working as a Netflix series... full review
